Creates a note named after today's date with a simple outline and opens it.

The workflow

  1. Start

    When you sign in to Windows

    Format date

    Format today as 2026-10-27

    Gets today's date, for example 2026-10-27.

    Write text to file

    Add # Formatted date ⏎ ⏎ ## Top three ⏎ - ⏎ ⏎… to …\Notes\Formatted date.md

    Creates the note in Documents\Notes with your outline. If today's note already exists, the outline is added at the end and nothing is replaced.

    Open file or folder

    Open File

    Opens the note.

  5. End of workflow
